Tsunami Allstars Cheerleading marked a remarkable milestone by competing for the first time at the Allstar World Championships in Orlando, Florida. As the only team from North Lincolnshire to earn a bid and take the world stage, this achievement brought pride not only to their local community but they also represented the UK on a global stage. The event gathered nearly 2,000 teams from across the globe, making it the largest championship in history. Tsunami Allstars’ debut showcased their talent, determination, and potential to become a lasting force in international cheerleading.
A Historic Moment for North Lincolnshire and the UK
The 2026 Allstar World Championship brought together 1,961 teams and approximately 24,000 athletes from 558 programs worldwide. Among these, 97 programs represented the UK, but Tsunami Allstars stood out as the only team from North Lincolnshire to qualify for a bid for the first time. This debut was not just a competition entry; it was a statement of the program’s growth and ambition.
The team’s participation highlighted the rising standard of cheerleading in the UK and demonstrated that athletes from smaller regions could compete on the world stage. This historic moment has inspired local athletes and supporters, showing that dedication and hard work can open doors to global opportunities.
Competing Against the Best in Level 1 Divisions
Tsunami Allstars competed in the highly competitive Level 1 divisions, which included 506 teams overall in level 1 across the championships. Their athletes faced some of the best cheerleaders from around the world, pushing their skills and teamwork to new heights.
Stingrays competed in the Youth semi-finals division, placing 16th out of 32 teams on Day 1. They didn't progress to day 2 finals however their performance showed strong fundamentals and promising potential for future competitions.
Piranhas delivered an exceptional routine, advancing to the Day 2 Finals in 3rd place from their semi-final division. They finished 17th out of 44 teams in the Senior Level 1 finals division, an impressive result for a first-time appearance.
These results reflect the team’s resilience and commitment to excellence. Competing at this level requires not only physical skill but also mental toughness, and Tsunami Allstars demonstrated both throughout the championship.
